In accordance with the fractionalization of the professions in the art sector, our re-education program aims to enhance the Professionalism of those in the field. Since 2005, the lectures we have presented have evolved from subjects related to overall museum management to more specific topics, and are focused on the communication of information and the establishment of networks between professionals in the field. In 20007, lectures and discussions were held regarding children’s art Education, at which specialists and in the field shared information and cases studies.
With active policies in the area of culture and arts education, the emphasis on the educational functions and roles of cultural facilities is increasing, and there is a need for research and discussions of detailed teaching methods for arts and culture education. In addition, there is a need to improve and activate arts and culture education in the school curriculum. In 2007, a workshop involving teachers, arts (museum) education professionals, and art history specialists was held to discuss the development of integrated class materials in order to support arts and culture education in schools.
The internship program, established in 1999, provides an opportunity for people who aspire to work in art museums to expe- rience and learn about working in a museum, both from a theoretical perspective and through actual field experience. It aims to foster professionals in the field, and to vitalize the operations in art museums by recruiting high quality human resources.
