
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relationships between Korea and Thailand, this exhibition introduces contemporary Korean art to Thailand. The exhibition shows the daily life of Koreans with three main subjects - family, society, and daily items. Through work by 16 artists in diverse areas, including Seok Nam Yoon, the exhibition is to provide a chance to reinforce Asian cultural solidarity.
With the Argentinean tour of the Korean contemporary art exhibition following its exhibition at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneous de Santiago(MAC), Chile in 2007, the excellence of Korean contemporary art was introduced in the Central & South America. Peppermint Candy applies to the same titled film directed by Chang Dong Lee in 1999. The exhibition features 79 works of 29 artists, including Young Hwan Bae, Jun Heui Jeon and Jung Hwa Choi.
The National Museum of Contemporary Art co-organized this exhibition with 5 art museums in Japan. The exhibition features 110 works by 60 artists, and is focused on realist art that depicts the social conditions in Korea from 1945 to 2005. Starting with Nigata in 2007, it travels to at 4 other art museums in Fukuoka and Tokyo.
